ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO DAYS
10:00am - 3:30pm | £5 |
Either Friday 24 September or Thursday 30 September, 2010

A one-day workshop for students considering architecture at degree or diploma level.
Duration: all day.
Lunch and refreshments provided.

College students applying to schools of architecture will be asked to present a portfolio of work which demonstrates their abilities, an understanding of how space and light can be manipulated, skill in observational drawing and experience of inventive built forms. This workshop will help you to prepare for the application process.

These one-day workshops are designed to help prospective architecture students:

  • explore the resources of Sir John Soane's Museum
  • meet and exchange ideas with architecture professionals
  • sketch the Museum for your portfolio
  • develop a visual literacy and understanding of the built environment

To book, please contact Beth Walker on 020 7440 4254 or at bwalker@soane.org.uk

In Partnership with the Wallace Collection:

"My collection is the result of my life":
The Art of Collecting and Display at the Wallace Collection and Sir John Soane's Museum

10 and 11 March 2011, 10.30am - 3.30pm
Maximum 18 students. Suitable for AS/A2
Art & Design and Art History Students.
This day will introduce students to the issues of collection and display in these two once private, but now public collections. Both were acquired by fascinating characters and, unusually, both retain the feel of someone's home. Through discussion, observation and independent research, students will develop their understanding of the objects' collection history and the different approaches to display in each institution.

Booking for these sessions is via the Wallace Collection Education Department: 020 7563 9551 or
email education@wallacecollection.org
